Bergen Catholic High School stadium to undergo $13M renovation
ORADELL— Plans to renovate a high school football stadium in Bergen County have been approved.
The Bergen Catholic High School football stadium is set to undergo a $13 million renovation after the borough zoning board voting in favor of the proposal last night.
The all-male school will expand its stadium with nearly 1,800 hundred more seats, making room for 3,150 people.
The renovation will also add a full kitchen, a four-lane track, luxury-box area, and field improvements.
Only one person voted against approving the plans. That council member said she had concerns over the height of four 80-foot light poles will be added as part of the plans. Other members though say all the positives outweighed the negatives in the project.
As part of the proposal, the school agreed to turn off the lights at the stadium at 7:30 p.m., meaning no evening games will be held.
The school has created a donation fund called “crusade to the summit” to help pay for the renovations.
