Man from Babylon raises money, collects turkeys that will be donated to Long Island’s hungry
BABYLON — One Long Island resident is performing an act of generosity and kindness the Thanksgiving holiday approaches.
Ryan Sullivan has been collecting money to provide food for those who need it most for the last five years. He and his team of athletes and firefighters collected turkeys from a “Stop & Shop” Supermarket in West Babylon. Those turkeys will be donated to several firehouses and other organizations and be handed out on Wednesday.
“From last year, we raised about $16,600 and this year we’re like right under $33,000 so it’s a huge jump,” Sullivan said.
“So it’s really great for us to show that we care and we give back and we’re going to do everything we can to make sure our communities can have what we have and enjoy the holidays with their families,” said Shauna Koehler, WMBF Bikini World Champion.
