Unique Long Island holiday gifts to ease the stress of shopping

Holiday shopping can be stressful, and oftentimes buying gifts for individuals can be difficult. However, unique gifts can be found across Long Island, which is filled with an abundance of entrepreneurs and artists

Artist Molly Whalen offers unique gifts, like paintings to tea towels inspired by South Shore Beaches as well as ornaments. These items are on mollywhalen.com

“My siblings and I are definitely Long Island lovers and we love growing up here and having access to all the great things here. I think I definitely show that. It’s like a little vacation town,” Whalen said.

The Gold Coast Arts Center in Great Neck is selling textiles and these hand-made items as well. Proceeds benefit the arts center.

These items, created by differently-abled members of Family Residences and Essential Enterprises (FREE) are on sale at a kiosk at Broadway Commons in Hicksville.

There are dolls galore which are handmade, on DebraAnnDolls on Etsy. They can also be found at the Sayville General Store.

All sorts of fun and colorful socks for kids and adults can be found at johnscrazysocks.com, which is also the company that provided socks to former President George H.W. Bush.

Those looking for an item to spruce up the home, from frames to wooden pieces with a map of Long Island, can head to wingin_it_creations on Instagram.

For the readers out there, there is Turn of The Corkscrew here on North Park Avenue in Rockville Centre. There are gifts, too like wine bottles and bookmarks.

“We do carry a lot of books that are not your typical bestsellers but they’re very interesting books. A lot of picture books- a lot of autographed copy books so that’s fun for the holidays,” Turn of The Corkscrew member Carol Hoenig said.

Over to Amityville, individuals can find Christmas on Long Island Candles, Dune bracelets that contain sand from Long Island beaches and beach wine glasses at FlipFlopagram on Park Avenue.

Long Island-made dream catchers can be found at ShopWildCotton on Etsy.
