Jersey City regains control of city schools

JERSEY CITY – After nearly 30 years, Jersey City has regained full control over its school district.

“The state has measured our progress over the past 11 years since the first step for return to local control started and obviously the state is satisfied that we have met these metrics,” said Jersey City Board of Education President Sudhan Thomas.

Jersey City officially regains control on the 25th of October.
