The buzz late Friday morning Johan Santana's spring debut pushed back from March 2nd to mid-March. General Manager Sandy Alderson said Santana will throw from March 10-1. He didn't pitch after Aug. 17 because of lower back inflammation. Everyone says Santana is healthy and we spoke to him check it out on FiOS 1 News.

We also spoke to David Wright. The Mets 3rd Baseman and face of the franchise is ready for the season. He takes his role as the leader of this team seriously and believes that they can make a run at the playoffs.

Mike and I made the long drive to Port St. Lucie and there is one road that is a long two-lane highway. We saw some questionable passing from some drivers! Even passed an orange refinery that looked liked a hideout for a James Bond villain. Mike again with the quote of the day "How is our orange crop doing Number 2."

The news late out of Yankees Camp was the health of Phil Hughes. Manager Joe Girardi called it a minor back injury that happened during fielding drills on Monday. This bears watching because Hughes is a starter that the Yanks are counting on and remember last year, Austin Romine's minor back problem turned into a bulging disc. Not saying the two are related but it is better to be extremely cautious. He will not take part in baseball activities for a few days.

Weather in Tampa 58 when I woke up 20 degrees warmer than yesterday! Yes! First hit for Fios 1 Morning Edition at 9:10 am and was joined by super fans Alana Servidio and Michelle Smith both of Lyndhurst, NJ. Michelle was weaing her Mrs. Jeter t-shirt.

Our rental car was nearly struck by a home run off one of the side fields. Mike stopped the car and I grabbed the ball. What is it about baseballs that turn grown men into kids?

Monday we caught up with Yankees GM Brian Cashman. We spoke one on one on Field 3 while the pitchers were going through fielding drills and long tossing. Cashman thinks that Teixeira, Cano and Youkilis will have to supply the power in the lineup, and feels Nova had a sophomore slump but can bounce back.

Woke up to 38 degree temperatures. Feels like Opening Day in the Bronx April 1st vs. Boston. Spoke to Ivan Nova, Jayson Nix and Curtis Granderson. They all thought the weather reminded them of April in NYC.

Nova spoke about learning from last year and improving this year. Remember he struggled but he is a very confident guy, who is young, and is still learning the game. Chatted with Phil Hughes off camera about ice hockey. The Yankees starter who is a free agent after the season is a huge Tampa Bay Lightning fan. He loves going to the games. He grew up in Southern California.

A chilly start to the day gives way to milder numbers this afternoon. As high pressure holds strong over the eastern seaboard, we can expect plenty of sunshine with temperatures in the lower 60s. A warm front approaches this evening, resulting in thickening clouds. Temperatures will remain on the mild side overnight in the mid 40s. There is a slight chance for showers to start the day tomorrow, then turning sunny and warm with highs near 65.
