'We Are Here for You'
BRIGANTINE, N.J. — NJ governor Chris Christie teamed up with President Obama Wednesday to survey the damage left behind by Hurricane Sandy. A somber President toured through Atlantic City by helicopter and promised residents of the devastated areas that they will have the full support of the government as the recovery efforts begin. Local residents, however, are less optimistic after police deny them entry to their destroyed neighborhoods.
New York is also expected to receive federal support after President Obama declared it in a state of emergency prior to landfall. Though the major issue remains widespread power outages, today, Staten Island and parts of Long Island still remain under water.
