STONY BROOK — Stony Brook University officials broke ground Friday on the location that will give rise to a new state-of-the-art facility. New York State Sen. Kenneth LaValle (R-Selden), who played a major part in securing funds for the project, said the new building will better prepare students who will go out and work in Long Island industries. The 70,000 square-foot, nearly $50 million facility is scheduled for completion in time for the fall semester of 2014.
