A Long Island doctor accused in the deaths of two of his patients after authorities said he illegally prescribed them was indicted in Cetral Islip Court on Friday. Officials said Dr. William Conway, 69, is responsible for the deaths of two of his patients after he prescribed them excessive amounts of painkillers. According to an investigation by the New York State Bureau of Narcotics Enforcement, Conway and his assistant, Robert Hachmeister, 67, issued more than 5,500 oxycodone prescriptions to more than 6,000 patients within a two-year period.
