Authorities Say Graffiti Messages Sprayed on Exterior Walls
NORTH BAY SHORE — Officials and worshippers at the Masjid Darul Quaran mosque are cleaning up their facility after it was the target of a hate crime. Suffolk County police said the vandals sprayed graffiti messages on the mosque's exterior walls, such as "the war will rise," while another referenced the consulate attack in Libya. Authorities said the vandals struck between Wednesday night and Thursday morning.
The Suffolk Police Hate Crimes Unit is asking anyone with information to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-220-TIPS.
