Sources: Federal Agents Investigate Airplanes
NEW YORK — Two airplanes have been cleared after a security scare at John F. Kennedy International Airport on Monday afternoon. A phone threat was made around 3 p.m. and officials decided to move American Airlines Flight 24, which had arrived from San Francisco, and Finnair Flight 5 from Helsinki, to an isolated airport area for investigation.
Federal agents and Port Authority police inspected the airplanes and gave the all-clear around 4:45 p.m.
