LONG BEACH — State officials are warning of surf heights that could reach four to six feet in height and a high risk of rip currents at area beaches through Monday as Hurricane Leslie heads up North along the Atlantic Ocean. As a safety precaution, state park officials are prohibiting swimming at Hither Hills State Park in Montauk, and residents will only be allowed to go into the water waist deep at Jones Beach and Robert Moses State Parks.
