Colorado Theater Shooting Prompts Public Safety Conference
BRENTWOOD — July's deadly cinema massacre in Colorado prompted Suffolk County police to hold a seminar Tuesday that educated theater owners and managers on preventing a shooting and what steps to take in case one were to happen. Inspector Stuart Cameron of Suffolk police said active shooters have become more complex and sophisticated, using small weapons and diversionary tactics. Theater owners who attended said the seminar made them focus about the preventive measures they can take to ensure theatergoers' safety.
