Suspects Allegedly Attempted to Bypass DWI Interlock Device
Nassau County authorities announced the results of an undercover sting operation that resulted in the arrest of 25 suspects for allegedly bypassing the ignition interlock device installed in their cars. Investigators followed 141 convicted drunk drivers with the devices installed in their car. Offenders were arrested and charged with aggravated unlicensed operation of a vehicle and operating a vehicle without an ignition interlock device. The device became mandatory for any drunk driver sentenced after August 15, 2010.
