QUEENS, N.Y. — Officials say an investigation is under way after an LIRR employee died on the job. According to police, the worker was killed Monday morning after touching an electrified rail near the Queens Village Station located between 218th Street and Springfield Boulevard. Sources say a co-worker rushed to help the victim and was hospitalized as a precaution. Police have not released the name of the victim at this time.
