SUFFOLK COUNTY — Suffolk health officials said that more mosquitoes have tested positive for the West Nile virus, according to reports. The virus can be deadly and spreads to humans through the bite of an infected mosquito. Officials confirmed to Newsday that a Babylon resident was infected with the virus and has recovered.

The Suffolk Department of Health Services urged residents to be cautious and reduce exposure to mosquitoes by removing pools of stagnant water near homes.
