EAST MEADOW — Dayquan Holmes, 20, was arrested Thursday after he attempted to choke a teenage girl and then resisted arrest, according to Nassau police. Officers responded to reports of an altercation near Merrick Avenue and Kalda Lane and tried to arrest Holmes, police said. Holmes struggled with officers and one officer was injured in the leg, sources said.

Holmes faces several charges including assault, criminal obstruction of breathing, menacing and resisting arrest.
