New Bridge Would Cost $5.2 Billion
NEW YORK — Executives with Westchester, Rockland and Putnam counties have approved Governor Cuomo's proposal for a new Tappan Zee Bridge. According to media reports, the new plan will allow for an expansion of the bridge allowing for 'bus only' lanes. If officials move forward with the project, it will cost federal agencies an estimated $5.2 billion.
Critics of the proposal say that moving forward with the plan would raise the price of the toll to as high as $14.
