HEMPSTEAD — The man accused of attempting to fake his own drowning was arrested again Thursday morning. Less than 24 hours after posting a $100,000 bail on fraud charges, Raymond Roth was taken into custody for trying to contact his wife, police said. Roth's wife Evana had an order of protection against him.

Roth was arrested Wednesday for allegedly attempting to fake his death and collect $50,000 in life insurance. Officials said Roth's son, Jonathan Roth, 22, conspired with him to commit the fraud. Roth pleaded not guilty to charges of conspiracy to commit fraud.
