LINDENHURST — Michael Cole, the owner of Gravesend Cycles, started out as a construction worker before pursuing a childhood dream. A self taught motorcycle enthusiast, he then began working on motorcycle repair before starting his custom motorcycle company three years ago.

Nicknamed "Copper Mike," for his trademark use of the precious metal, Cole makes all of his bikes by hand, with original designs and creative inspirations attracting internationally known customers like Lady Gaga. "It's the motorcycle world and it's loud... but look at how beautiful it can be," he says.
