Patchogue's Carnegie Library was slowly moved by remote control across the village overnight Wednesday after workers loaded the 800,000-pound building into a framework consisting of wheels. Officials have plans to turn the historical library into a municipal building, as part of a revitalization project that provides office space and housing. Village of Patchogue Mayor Paul Pontieri said moving the building is a way for the community to preserve its rich history.
