FARMINGDALE — In a roller coster economy, Farmingdale-based D'Addario & Co. has managed to thrive through the years. President Rick Drumm says that it is passion and the love of music that has kept this leading instrument accessories business successful. His father was a professional trumpet player, so it was no surprise that Drumm would lead a long career as a performer. He traveled the country with his drum set by his side, but after having learned the business behind the stage, he joined D'Addario & Co. CEO Jim D'Addario's family business in 2006. The company, which has been manufacturing musical instrument strings for than 100 years, has become one of the top musical manufacturers and distributors in the world.
