RONKONKOMA – Fifteen fighter jets completed a mission to escort a small, home-built plane that wondered over restricted airspace to a landing at MacArthur Airport Monday night. The small aircraft had flown into a no-fly zone that had been put in place because President Obama was flying into JFK Airport to attend fundraising events in Connecticut.

The pilot has not been identified. A preliminary investigation has determined that the incident was simply an accident.
