SOUTHOLD — Police have arrested a Manhasset man and charged him with boating while intoxicated near Greenport breakwater with 16 children onboard. According to investigators, Charles D. Miller, of Manhasset, was stopped by police Monday afternoon and was arrested after police noticed clear signs of intoxication. The 22-foot boat was overcrowded with a total of 18 people including 16 children, police say. Miller was charged with BWI, endangering the welfare of a child and reckless operation of a vessel and is expected to appear in court Friday.
