First Case of West Nile Virus Confirmed in Suffolk County

BABYLON — Police have confirmed the first victim of the West Nile Virus in Suffolk County. According to the Suffolk County Health Department, the unidentified Babylon man was first diagnosed with the mosquito-born disease in July 30. He has since reportedly made a full recovery. The health officials say they are investigating a possible second victim at this time. In 2011, four cases were confirmed in Suffolk County and 16 in Nassau.
