MASSAPEQUA — The Massapequa man who police say tried fake his own death is back in New York, according to The New York Times. Police say Raymond Roth was reported missing last Saturday off the coast of Jones Beach. Over the course of the week, Roth's wife, Evana, said she discovered emails that detailed the plan to fake his death. Roth's brother then called police to inform them that he was alive and well in Florida, officials said.

Charges against Roth have not yet been filed pending further investigation. Although the exact whereabouts of Roth are unknown, his wife says that neighbors claimed they had seen him drive through their Massapequa neighborhood.
