A Pancake Breakfast for Families in Need
CEDARHURST — "This is just something I can give to the community that has given me so much over the years," says Ellen Liebenthal, a high school student who volunteers her time at the Five Towns Community Chest.
For 82 years, Five Towns Community Chest has provided housing and funding for local agencies that provide child care and after school programs for children in need. With the help of the Applebees, the Five Towns Community Chest put together an event that will benefit the Early Learning Center where parents in need of child care can find support. It was a collective effort that served families with a nice pancake breakfast, with net proceeds to provide the Five Towns Early Learning Center with new bicycles.
