Steve Bellone: New Deal Will Save Taxpayers $17 Million a Year

BOHEMIA — Suffolk County Executive Steve Bellone announced Thursday he reached an agreement with the PBA on a landmark 10-year contract. Bellone said the deal with the PBA will save taxpayers $17 million a year and improve public safety by making new police officers more affordable. PBA members must first ratify the agreement within 30 days and then it has to be approved by the Suffolk Legislature.
