Authorities said Thursday the Massapequa man believed to have drowned in the waters of Jones beach was found alive and about 1,000 miles away in Orange County, Florida. Captain Bruce Marx of New York State Park Police said Raymond Roth's brother contacted a family member Tuesday night, who in turn notified detectives. Roth's son reported him missing on Saturday.
