Police Say Levi Aron Kept Leiby Kletzky's Feet in Freezer
NEW YORK — Police say the man accused of killing and butchering an 8-year-old boy in the Hasidic Jewish neighborhood of Borough Park is expected to plead guilty Thursday. According to investigators, Leiby Kletzky was kidnapped as he walked home from day camp in July of 2011. The suspect, Levi Aron, then drugged the boy, smothered him and eventually chopped his body into pieces, police say. Police say the victim's feet were found inside the suspect's freezer and the rest of the boy was found in a trash bin several blocks away from the suspect's Brooklyn home.
The family of the victim has reportedly agreed to the plea deal as they hope to move forward from this painful tragedy. If Aron agrees, he faces 25 years to life in prison.
