HEMPSTEAD — A man was shot and killed in Hempstead on Wednesday night, according to Nassau County police. Officers responded to a call around 8 p.m. and found a man with a gunshot wound lying in the street near 158 Lawson St., police said. The victim was taken to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead, sources said. The investigation is ongoing.
