FRANKLIN SQUARE — The “Heroes Night Out” barbecue at the Franklin Square VFW honored hundreds of veterans with free food. The event, sponsored by New York State Assemblyman Edward Ra, gave servicemen the chance to recount old stories, to bond over food and honor their lost comrades.

The veterans say they hope future generations will remember the sacrifices made by servicemen and women to ensure the freedom and safety of all Americans.
