Underage Teens Require Parental Consent for Piercing
ALBANY — New York Governor Andrew Cuomo signed a new bill Tuesday denying underage teens the right to get body piercings without parental consent. According to media reports, the Governor said he supported the bill because piercings can lead to severe health risks. The new piercing law will take effect in three months, reports say.
Until now, a similar law only existed for tattoos.
