UNIONDALE — Blumenfeld Development Group of Syosset and Renaissance Downtowns of Plainview made Monday's deadline and submitted a master plan for the redevelopment of the Nassau Coliseum. The winning bidder will have to begin immediate construction for a new or renovated arena for the New York Islanders surrounded with shops and housing in the 77-acres available. Both companies have very different things to bring to the table, experts say.

Nassau County Executive Ed Mangano has not said what day he will announce his choice for the Nassau Coliseum redevelopment plan. Charles Wang, however, has already announced that the New York Islanders will leave the arena by 2015 if a new coliseum and satisfying partnership is not finalized.
