MINEOLA — Nassau County health officials gathered Friday to warn residents of the bed bug season, as well as give advice on what to do when it comes to the arachnids. Arthur Katz of Knockout Pest Control said they use canines to find bed bugs, but that a homeowner's thorough inspection is the most effective tool in identifying an infestation problem. Health officials said the bed bug season usually runs through the end of September.
