MINEOLA — Long Islanders geared up for the 2012 Summer Olympics opening ceremony held in London Friday night. About 15,000 people participated in the London spectacular, which cost an estimated $42 million. Some excited residents headed to Eleanor Rigby Restaurant for an opening ceremony viewing party and to cheer for team U.S.A.
