EAST ROCKAWAY — A local resident says county officials have disregarded her complaints about constant flooding inside her home since her street was repaved in 2007. According to Eileen Podberesky, the flooding began in August of that year just a month after construction workers finished their work on the street. Since then, nine floods have caused severe damage to her home, she says. "Mold forms. My house smells," says Podberesky.

Podberesky says the DPW commissioner of Nassau County, who admitted in a letter that the flooding is due to the repaving, has failed to assist.
