RIVERHEAD — In an unprecedented move, the man accused in the June 24 drunk driving crash that killed a Lindenhurst teen was charged with her murder on Wednesday. Officials said State Supreme Court Justice Mark Cohen unsealed a grand jury indictment against Michael Grasing, who now faces a second-degree murder charge.
Michael Grasing was arrested after police say he was driving intoxicated at speeds up to 100 miles per hour on Montauk Highway before causing the accident that killed 18-year-old Brittney Walsh. According to authorities, Grasing had a blood alcohol level nearly four times the legal limit at the time of the accident. Walsh graduated from Copiague High School two days before her death.
