WYANDANCH — Two Suffolk County police officers are recuperating after a head-on collision with a drunk driver on Saturday night. Police say that Rony Santos, 42, was driving westbound on Long Island Avenue when he crossed over into incoming traffic and collided with an oncoming Suffolk County police car. The two officers inside the police car were both transported to local hospitals for treatment.

Santos has been arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated. Police are still investigating the crash.
