NORTH MASSAPEQUA — Police arrested a 44-year-old Massapequa man accused of taking pictures of a young girl at an ice cream shop. Authorities said an undercover officer arrested Richard Stacel after witnessing the suspect take photos of the eight-year-old with his cell phone at the "Mad Topper" on Hicksville Road Thursday night. The suspect broke the phone and the memory card in an attempt to destroy the evidence, police added. The arresting officer said Stacel also tried to reach for a stun gun in his car.

Stacel is charged with possession of a dangerous weapon and endangering the welfare of a child.
