Councilman Michael Fagen Accused of Grand Larceny
LONG BEACH — A court date has been set for disgraced Long Beach Councilman Michael Fagen after officials say he illegally collected thousands of dollars in unemployment benefits. According to investigators, Fagen concealed his position to the state labor department and collected more than $14,000 in benefits. Fagen was arrested and charged with third-degree grand larceny and first-degree offering of false instrument for filing and is expected to appear in court Sept. 4.
