5 Nassau Beaches Closed to Bathing

Due to heavy rainfall, the Nassau County Department of Health closed the following five south shore beaches to bathing as a precautionary measure, effective Sunday. Storm water runoff can have a negative impact by elevating bacterial levels and affecting bathing water quality. The five beaches are:

Biltmore Beach Club
Hewlett Point Beach
Island Park Beach
Merrick Estates Civic Association
Philip Healey Beach
