New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg says control over the 9/11 memorial should stay in the hands of the National September 11 Memorial & Museum Foundation to keep the site out of the political process. The Port Authority of New York and New Jersey owns the site and the two governors control the agency. Both governors also agree the memorial should not be politicized.
