Homemade Fireworks Materials Discovered in Garage
An East Moriches man is being held on $150,000 bail Wednesday after his arraignment on reckless endangerment charges. The family of Ronald Walker, 34, discovered several marked containers with chemicals used to make illegal fireworks inside his Woodcrest Drive home and turned him in to authorities. Emergency services were called in to remove the chemicals. Authorities say most of the chemicals discovered are legal over-the-counter materials but were not stored safely.
Prosecutors revealed that a grenade launcher was also found at the residence. Walker has pleaded not guilty to the charges.
