Hundreds of dog lovers gathered in Valley Stream for the grand opening and ribbon-cutting ceremony for the village's new dog park, a healthy and social place for both people and their pets to enjoy.

The half-acre dog park is the result of 12 months of hard work and planning by volunteers and funding from several sponsors. Valley Stream Mayor Edwin Fare was pleased to have community groups working together to make the park a reality. Fare says that he anticipates the park will be a great success due to the large dog-owner population.
