Detective Kevin Brennan, the NYPD officer from Garden City Park who almost lost his life in the line of duty, was promoted to the rank of sergeant on Friday. Brennan, who survived a shot to the back of the head in January, was promoted after completing a competitive exam he took before the shooting incident in Brooklyn.
