RIVERSIDE — Southampton police say a 15-year veteran officer of the Suffolk County Jail has been charged with DWI after a fatal accident Monday morning. Police say Christopher Dean was driving drunk when he struck and killed a pedestrian on Flanders Road at 12:30 a.m. on Monday. Dean was arrested at the scene and suspended without pay for thirty days following his arraignment Monday. The victim has not yet been identified by police.
