FAA Looking to Regionalize Air Traffic Control System
NEW YORK — The Federal Aviation Administration is looking to build a new facility to replace air traffic control operations in Westbury and Ronkonkoma, according to reports. Newark Liberty Airport, Stewart Airforce Base in Newburgh, Poughkeepsie and Albany are contenders for the new setup, sources said. The change, if it goes into effect, will put the jobs of 532 people with an average annual salary of over $136,000 in jeopardy.
