RIVERHEAD — Michael Bowen, 51, of Brooklyn was sentenced to 6 1/3 to 19 years in prison on Monday after pleading guilty to charges of vehicular homicide, second-degree manslaughter and other charges as part of a plea agreement. Police say Bowen was intoxicated and driving the wrong way on the Northern State Parkway when his vehicle collided with that of officer Andre Menzies of North Babylon in November 2010.

Menzies’ widow Natasha said she hoped that Bowen would use the tragedy to teach and help others. Natacha said she forgives Bowen and hopes he finds peace.
