Area Contains Books, Media Geared to Gay and Lesbian Community
West Babylon High School students were on hand at the cutting-ribbon ceremony to open the first LGBT studies section in the library. Alumni Christopher Nolan had the idea to add a section that not only featured books of authors like Truman Capote and autobiographies of people like Harvey Milk, but also media that is specifically geared towards the gay and lesbian community. Nolan said although his idea was not realized while attending the school, he was very excited to finally see it happen.
