The Port Authority of New York and New Jersey will provide alternative transportation for commuters during President Obama’s visit to the World Trade Center site on Thursday. Starting Thursday afternoon, all PATH trains heading to and from Lower Manhattan will be closed for security purposes during the hours of 3 p.m. and 6 p.m. During the closure, PATH trains from Newark will end at Grove Street and the Journal Square and Hoboken lines will go directly to 33rd Street. Commuters are urged to use the 33rd Street PATH station or Penn Station to get to and from NYC and the A, C, E or R subway lines to reach Lower Manhattan.
NJ Transit will cross-honor PATH tickets for trips back to New Jersey.
Updates on PATH service and WTC station closures will be available in real time on Thursday via Twitter, as well as PATHVision and train information screens.
